This website aims to provide an overview of what is Amateur Radio and presents the different aspects of the hobby. Hamradio.org is a collaborative online encyclopedia of amateur radio where passionate amateurs from around the world contribute with articles on a wide range of topics.
The content is designed to be useful to people from different backgrounds: children, adults without specific technical training or recognized experts should find this site valuable material for their journey in the hobby.
We cover the following fields and topics:
- Introduction to Amateur Radio (What is A.R., Getting licensed, Learning, …)
- Amateur radio specific topics (Legislation, Modes of operation, Activities, Organizations, …);
- Technical topics (Radio, Electronics, Computers & IT, …).

The structure and content of this site have been coordinated by the International Amateur Radio Union (IARU) Region 1. The IARU is a non-profit organization that represents the interests of amateur radio operators.
